PPP Supports PML-N Candidate for Prime Minister: Bilawal Bhutto Confirms the Alliance

The PPP leader, Bilawal Bhutto, stated that his party will support the candidate for Prime Minister from the PML-N after a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) in Islamabad. He mentioned that the PPP will not seek any federal ministries and has accepted the election results for the country’s betterment, despite some concerns.

Bilawal preferred to avoid another election, as demanded by PTI supporters. He highlighted that joining hands with the N-League is essential to prevent further issues with poll results. Bilawal urged all political parties to address shortcomings to improve the electoral process, utilizing forums like the ECP and parliament.

Bilawal clarified that he would not be a candidate for the position of Prime Minister as previously claimed by his father Asif Ali Zardari during an election campaign. People Party believes that the PML-N and independents (PTI‘s elected candidates) have a larger representation at the Centre. This decision to support the PML-N came after the PTI declined a coalition with the PPP.

Bilawal expressed a personal desire for his father, Asif Ali Zardari, to become the next president, stating that Zardari is the person who can effectively manage the current situation in the country. In conclusion, Bilawal assured the public that, although the Peoples Party may not be part of the government, they will engage with political parties on issues related to votes.

Pakistan Peoples Party’s CEC discussed various suggestions and proposals in a meeting chaired by Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Following the 2024 General Elections, the PML-N and PPP are working strategically to form a central government with the support of their allies (Pakistan Democratic Alliance). The PML-N is actively working to establish a government at the Centre, as well as in Punjab and Balochistan.

Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf, despite in absence of Khan and front leadership, managed to grab majority seats in the National Assembly. PTI is busy fighting cases for the release of Chairman Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Quraishi, and Usman Dar and Cases of rigging in many constituencies while (already in government) PMLN and PPP have allied with JUI (F), MQM, JIP, and independents to form government in Federal, Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan. PTI will sit in the opposition and hold the Chief Ministry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
