Fastest T20i century, Namibian batter breaks the world record

In the ongoing Nepal Tri-nation series, Namibia beat the host Nepal by 20 runs in the opening match. Namibian batter Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton scored his maiden T20i century off just 33 balls becoming the fastest batsman ever to do so.

Nepal Tri-nation series included Nepal, Namibia, and the Netherlands. In the previous season, Nepal stood victorious after beating Malaysia by 85 runs.

Match Summary:

Namibia won the toss and opted to bat first. They couldn’t do well with the bat initially and lost 3 wickets for 62 runs in 11 overs. The projected score was around 120-130. But it did not go as expected. The all-rounder Nicol Loftie-Eaton smashed the century off just 33 balls breaking the record of Nepal’s Kushal Malla who had scored a hundred in 34 balls. Overall, Nicol scored 101 off 36 balls and got out. Namibia set a target of 207 for Nepal to chase.

While chasing the target, Nepal lost the wicket on the very first ball. No batter could stand longer. Yet they made it to 186 and lost by 20 runs. Nicol did best with the ball as well. He took 2 wickets. He was also the man of the match for his extraordinary match-winning performance.
