A group of tourists was attacked by unknown gunmen in Pahalgam, a town of Anantnag district of Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The initial reports suggested that the group of tourists consisted of Indian citizens, mostly families. A local Kashmiri Muslim lost his life while rescuing the injured. As of now, 26 of them have been declared dead while 20 are still in serious condition.
An FIR was lodged against 5 unknown gunmen who attacked on the Baisaran Valley, a tourism spot in Pahalgam. They were equipped with Made-in-India AK-47 and M4-carbines. A temporary lockdown was imposed in the region and locals were enforced to carry out rescue operation because of on-time unavailability of Indian Security Forces in the region.
Indian media named The Resistance Front (TRF) behind this incident. They claimed that TRF was backed by Pakistan-based Hafiz Saeed’s Lashkar-e-Taiba who is the master-mind behind the incident. They further accused Pakistan government for backing the attack.

Background
In August 2019, India has aborted the Article 370 from the disputed territories of Jammu & Kashmir creating years long depression in the region. Local politician Yasin Malik was prisoned while Syed Ali Shah Geelani died suspiciously. Hundreds of journalists went missing and things started worse with time. 2-year-long curfew and internet ban was imposed to silence the voices in the valley.
This further fueled the separatist movements in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Some false flag operations were required to eliminate the pro-independent youth.
False Flag Operations
India has a long history of carrying spy and false flag operations. From having Lord Mountbatten’s back in partition to faking the existence of some Pundits in Kashmir to introducing inhumane ASFPA act, India has tried every opportunity to hide their illegitimate rule. After blocking all sorts of knowledge and information in the Kashmir Valley, India tried to misguide the youth multiple times.

Pulwama Attack
In 2019, just before elections, India reported an attack in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp. The attack resulted 40 death while leaving many injured. India accused Jaish-e-Muhammad for the attack. Tensions arose across the boarder. India contested a False Flag operation naming Balakot Airstrike, claiming to have destroyed a militant training camp across LOC. A day later, Pakistan held Operation Swift Retort, taking down Indian Mig-21 and Su-30MKI aircrafts, capturing Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan alive. Abhinandan’s arrest debunked the India’s misdirection in Pulwama attack.
Pahalgam Attack
Pakistan initially denied the responsibility for involvement in the attack and rather condemned the incident. Later on, as news and reports came in the spotlight, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated, “This is all home-grown, there are revolutions in different so-called states against India, not one, not two, but dozens, from Nagaland to Kashmir, in the South, in Chhattisgarh, in Punjab, in Manipur, in Bengal. In all these places, there are revolutions against the Indian government“.
Khawaja Asif highlighted that the accused The Resistance Front exists no more. There are no footprints of their activities for years. Through not directly but Pakistan has declared that the incident is staged and it would not be the first time for Pakistan to face such baseless accusations without evidences.

Reaction
In reaction to the incident, India abolished the Indus Water Treaty 1960 which was brokered by the World Bank. This treaty allocates 3 rivers Bias, Ravi, and Sutlej to India. While the water from 80% of other 3 rivers Indus, Chenab, and Jhelum will be given to Pakistan. India has violated the treaty multiple times by creating dams on rivers, causing floods, and not reporting flood forecast etc.
Pakistan, in response, closed the airspace for Indian airplanes. Pakistan also shutdown the ongoing trade with India and warned off for any action across LOC.
